Uniform Dress Code
It is mandatory for all students to wear an Earl Monroe School branded polo shirts, tan khaki pants, and sneakers/dress shoes every day to school and on school field trips.
NOTE:
EMNRS hoodies and non-EMNRS polo shirts are NOT allowed.
Pants and skirts MUST be tan khaki. No other colors are allowed.
The dress code for all Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School students is business casual attire. This standard is important because it says you are serious about your work and your connection to the future.
Wearing EMNRS embroidered polo shirts IS SCHOOL MANDATED. To start the year off, every student has been given 2 EMNRS polo shirts, 2 tan khaki pants, and 1 tan khaki skirt (for girls).
We want to provide all families with options and flexibility when it comes to our school uniform. The purchase of additional EMNRS embroidered attire is not required. If you would like to purchase additional embroidered school uniforms, we have partnered with a local vendor to help you, just click the button above.
Additional tan khaki pants can be purchased from any local store such as Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Gap, Target etc.

We understand that uniform can be a sensitive matter in light of how scholars can express themselves, and there are multiple perspectives. Our school expectations are specific to our unique school community. The uniform dress code is designed to ensure there are “clear and reasonable guidelines” so that we can spend more of our efforts on supporting our scholars to attain some of the highest academic and personal outcomes possible.
Students are responsible for attending school in accordance with Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School. Students that do not adhere to the dress code may be subject to disciplinary action and may not be permitted to enter the school without the proper attire.

Acceptable Uniform Attire:
EMNRS Branded Polo shirt (short or long sleeve)
Full-length dress pants (tan khaki pants).
Pants must be worn at the waist and may not “sag.”
A solid-colored belt must be worn.
Girls may wear full-length or calf-length pants or tan khaki skirts.
Tan khaki skirts must be knee-length.
Any leggings must be worn under a skirt, dress, or pants that comply with EMNRS’s dress code; they may not be worn on their own.
All garments must fit properly without being tight.
Any style of sneaker or dress shoes is acceptable.
Knit crewneck sweaters and cardigans in navy blue
Unacceptable Uniform Attire:
Non-EMNRS polos are not allowed to be worn.
EMNRS hoodies
Hooded sweaters
T-shirts of any kind
Pants/skirts that are not tan khaki
Sleeveless shirts, spaghetti straps, tank tops
Jeans, corduroys, cargo pants, sweatpants, athletic gear
“Sagging” pants
Tight pants, skirts, or tops
Hats, durags, bandanas, headbands, hoods
Open toe shoes
Crocs, rubber clogs, sandals, slippers
Profanity on shoes
Physical Education Attire:
Athletic sweatpants/sweatshirts.
Athletic shorts above or up to knee level.
Students must wear sneakers for Physical Education.
